As Slipknot wraps up their touring cycle and Stone Sour begin theirs, Corey Taylor is a busy guy. But that doesn't stop him from writing.
Now we've got some interesting news regarding new Slipknot material… or new Stone Sour material, or Corey Taylor material. Even Taylor's not too sure what's up with this new music, he tells Nerdist.
“On the music side, I’m just kind of demoing some stuff right now. I’m not sure what it’s gonna be for. Whether it’s some solo stuff or whatever. But that’s really it—finishing up the Stone Sour EPs that we’re working on. So really nothing new at the moment. But you never know, I’m getting requests for guest appearances all the time. So I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before I appear on somebody else’s album again.”
I think it's so interesting that a musician can be writing material and not be sure what band it fits into! It leaves a lot of options open, like changing a band's sound, going in a different direction or even parsing it all out. So we'll see!
