The Motorhead frontman smoked for 57 years.

Look, what you're about to read is only true in the most concrete sense of the word. We all know what really happened was that Lemmy ascended to Badass Earth in December 2015 because he surpassed the amount of badass you can be on Regular Earth and didn't actually die. In all seriousness though, it sucks to write this.

We learned that two days before the legendary Motorhead frontman's death, that he was battling an incredibly aggressive form of cancer and that's what the general assumption had been in terms of the cause of death. According to a copy of Lemmy's death certificate, obtained by TMZ, his cause of death was prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure. Cardiac arrhythmia is defined as an improper beating of the heart.

TMZ posted the death certificate in full, if you're curious.

Lemmy's life was celebrated in a touching funeral service, which was streamed online, followed by a party at the Rainbow. And if the photos do the party any justice, it was a night to remember.
