Dig on death metal? Got the cash to reach Illinois? If affirmative, here’s your friendly metalfest fyi: The Central Illinois Metalfest will be taking place on July 23rd and 24th: saturating downtown Illinois with two days of non-stop death metal, grindcore, and technical goodness (laced with some thrash, courtesy of Deceased).
Conceived in 2007 and still relatively underground, the festival has been host to such incendiary artists as SUFFOCATION, ORIGIN, and IMMOLATION. This year, the line-up includes PHOBIA, INCANTATION, MALEVOLENT CREATION, ORIGIN (part deux), GRAVES OF VALOR, and many more. To get the full roster of bands, you can visit the festival's myspace page. So, to those of you who’d like a little sequel to your Maryland Death Fest experience this year, there’s a potential go-to.
