From First To Last's career has been on tangentially connected to two bigs names, those being Skrillex and Periphery. From 2004 to 2007, Sonny Moore (now Skrillex) fronted the post-hardcore band, who would continue on to exist until 2010 without Moore. It's also worth tossing in a fun side note that Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland played live with the band from 2005 to 2006, but that's not really important right now.
The band got back together in 2014 and recruited Periphery frontman Spencer Sotelo as their new frontman. Sotelo did the Dead Trees album in 2015, and has now been let go… though he didn't even know until that news started making the rounds on the Internet.
I found out the same way you did. Guess not.

But yes, I'm not going to be singing with FFTL anymore. We did Dead Trees for fun and didn't really plan on anything further than that.

So I guess there's no bad blood? Even if there weren't plans to go further than the album, isn't it at least a little shitty to let someone go like that?
Either way, there are plenty of rumors now that Skrillex is coming back to front the band, especially since From First To Last shared Skrillex’s Facebook post so if that's your thing, prepare to shit your pants.
