Legendary guitarist Marty Friedman's 2014 album Inferno was a great album, mainly because it was so damn diverse. The album featured members of Revocation, Children of Bodom, and Shining saxophonist Jørgen Munkeby, making each song something completely unique to its predecessor.
Now Friedman is talking about releasing a followup to Inferno in 2017, and he's stated on Facebook (below) that he's got 207 demos in the works for it. The album was recorded partially in Dave Grohl's Studio 606 with engineer Paul Fig (Deftones, Alice In Chains), and is being called more "more intense" version of Inferno.
Here's where things get interesting. Thus far, the guests for the album include Jørgen Munkeby again, which makes sense. Then we've got Mutoid Man, but it doesn't specify which members… it just says Mutoid Man. So all of Mutoid Man? Oh, and Black Veil Brides guitarist and keyboardist Jinxx, and who the hell saw that one coming, right?
So it'll be interesting, that's for sure.
