Code Orange has a new album called Forever coming out on January 13 via Roadrunner, and for what it's worth I think this is a very make or break record for the band. The band's last album, I Am King, really put them on the map and even saw the band's name change from Code Orange Kids to Code Orange.
Now in an interview with Metal Insider, vocalist and drummer Jami Morgan talks about touring with Deftones and how it was pretty much a dream come true. Morgan then follows that up with by saying he doesn't want to tour with "bargain bin fucking deathcore bands."
“We just toured with Deftones and that was really cool. Our goal overall is to do something different. We aren’t running from our world, which is hardcore. We aren’t trying to escape and get in to some bigger world. We want to take our world and meet it with a lot of this other stuff. Roadrunner has done it in the past with everyone from Sepultura, Type O, to when they were doing Madball, Earth Crisis, Life Of Agony, bands that are more influenced by hardcore, but they were doing something a little different.
That is something we really look up to. For us, it is band to band, You can’t have anything but respect for Deftones. That was a dream. We got to tour with Killswitch Engage, but we don’t feel like, even if they are big, we don’t want to be touring with these bargain bin fucking deathcore bands. You know what I mean? There is nothing in the future for it. It is a quick buck. We are not looking for a quick buck. We are not here for a quick buck. We are here for the long haul.”
Update: Since publishing this story, the band reached out to us via Twitter to say that the Killswitch Engage quote was taken out of context in the interview. Here is what they said:
@robinjection would really like to get this article edited. The killswitch engage thing was totally misquoted. (1/2)

@robinjection was two separate thoughts that were misrepresented (probably unintentionally) as one – nothing but (2/3)

@robinjection respect and love to killswitch engage.were honored to tour w them

I think it's clear that the band was not referring to Killswitch Engage when saying "bargain bin deathcore," and it seems that was a completely different thought.
