SOFTEN THE GLARE (MUDVAYNE, GONG) Goes Metal Jazz Fusion With "March Of The Cephalopods"

Soften The Glare, the band that features Mudvayne bassist Ryan Martinie, Gong/Gongzilla guitarist Bon Lozaga, and drummer Mitch Hull, is an instrumental jazz-fusion-meets-metal band that genuinely deserves to be paid attention to. Soften The Glare's music doesn't rely on extraneous instrumentation and goofy gimmicks to get its point across or garner attention – this is three dudes who are absolutely, undeniably insane at their instruments writing instrumental music that is just fantastic.

Which is why we're so stoked to be premiering the band's brand new track "March Of The Cephalopods" today! The song goes from gentle jazz to big, meaty metal riffs, yet never feels disjointed or missed a step between transitions. You can pre-order the band's debut album Making Faces, which was produced and recorded by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Scale The Summit), in a variety of formats right here before its release in April.
