Hey there tech-fiends, it's that time of the week again. I've got a lovely exclusive song premiere to show you all today. But before we dive into that, here's the usual weekly reminder that all prior editions of this series can be perused here.
In the world of tech-death, Canada continues to reign supreme, their per capita number of top-notch technical death metal groups continues to surpass the rest of the world. In particular, Québec is a very strong hotbed for the genre, and newcomers Seismic are set to be yet another exciting band to come out of that region. I was turned onto the band by their bass player, Dave Tremblay, who is also one of the groups composers. I've been following his projects for years, so when he sent me a heads up about a new death metal group he was in, I was instantly interested in it. The band first started in 2015, with Dave later joining in 2016, leading us to today's debut single we are premiering called "Comorbidité interne". It's a lively and dense adventure, one that expertly mixes and matches brutal aggression with a lot of shredding and some fantastic proggy touches such as the spidery bass lick the song opens with.
If you're digging "Comorbidité interne", the single will be officially out on March 31st through the Seismic Bandcamp page and other outlets as well. Be sure to follow the band over on their Facebook Page as well. They're hoping to release an EP next year, so keep an eye on Seismic to do great things moving forwards.
