Metallica & Lady Gaga's performance at the Grammy's was awesome. So awesome, in fact, that the band has been questioned about future collaborations with Gaga in the future. Lars Ulrich says she's the "quintessential fifth member of the band," James Hetfield says it's not going to happen, and now Kirk Hammett tells Radio Rock that he's not too sure if it'll happen or not.
So yeah, Metallica is all very much on the same page about this.
"I don't know what's gonna happen in the future, I think it's a bit of a stretch for us to say, 'Yeah, we're gonna do something in the future!'
"Maybe we will, maybe we won't. But we kind of have a lot on our plate right now."
I guess we don't really need Robert Trujillo to weigh in, considering Hammett, Ulrich, and Hetfield have all the answers covered! Personally, I think the performance was awesome, but an actual album with Gaga on vocals might just come off as something forced.
