In very unfortunate news it would appear the latest Metal Injection interviewees Katatonia, have been robbed while on their headlining U.S. Tour. The robbery took place during their Minnesota stop of the tour, where two guitars were taken along with straps and wireless transmitters. The irony here is that one of the two guitars stolen was announced as a give away on the band's Myspace page.
The band apologizes for technical difficulties during their set due to the robbery and added
We just wanna encourage everybody already to help us keep an eye out for the guitars on pawn shops, Craigslist, eBay, etc. etc., and let us know immediately if they show up.
It's always a bummer to read about stolen gear, especially considering it's the life blood that musicians depend on to continue performing for the fans. It's also a really shitty example of hospitality shown to a Swedish band who doesn't visit the U.S. that often. Mayones is a unique guitar company, so it's easily recognizable. If you see one for sale that matches the description we urge you to help the band by contacting them via Myspace.
