Ex-Pantera bassist and current solo artist Rex Brown seems like he's a dude who's very in touch with the classics that he grew up with. Which isn't a bad thing! He just seems like the type of guy who likes what he likes, and in an interview with Music Radar, he confirms that a lot of his tastes are what he grew up with.
Check out the list below, which includes Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Steviw Wonder, and more! His reasoning for Soundgarden is a little funny too, saying "When that came out, we were still playing clubs and you had to wear the fuckin' poofy shirt. That record came along, and I had heard the EP, but when I heard that record that was it."
Yes, 1991 was one year after Cowboys From Hell, but I think people forget Pantera also had four very glam-metal records from 1983 to 1988.
- Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti (1975)
- The Beatles – Revolver (1966)
- ZZ Top – Tres Hombres (1973)
- Aerosmith – Rocks (1976)
- The Rolling Stones – Sticky Fingers (1971)
- Stevie Wonder – Songs In The Key Of Life (1976)
- KISS – Alive! (1975)
- Humble Pie – Rockin' the Fillmore (1971)
- Black Sabbath – Master Of Reality (1971)
- Soundgarden – Badmotorfinger (1991)
