The somewhat-recently reunited Staind are planning to record their first new album since 2011 this year and release it in 2022. According to vocalist Aaron Lewis in an interview with Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Staind planned on release the album earlier but were ultimately screwed over (as we all were) by the pandemic.
"I would certainly love to have it recorded and done by the end of this year, to be released next year. All of our plans that were kind of semi on the books and on the table, everything just had a year taken off of it [due to the pandemic]," said Lewis.
"We were gonna have a record come out sometime in 2020 or certainly in 2021, and there was a schedule that was on the table that, just like everything else, got burned to the ground as soon as [the lockdown] started."
In the meantime, Staind will release their new live album Live: It’s Been Awhile on May 7. The album was recorded in October 2019 at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT, and pre-orders are available here.
