The wait is over! Avenged Sevenfold is now streaming their long-awaited new single "Nobody" and has announced their new record Life Is But A Dream… for June 2. You can check out the single above alongside a music video directed by award-winning director Chris Hopewell.
Alongside festival appearances, Avenged Sevenfold will play two massive shows this summer – one at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA on June 9 and another at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY on June 23. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 17. The two shows are Avenged Sevenfold's first appearance in New York City since 2007, and first in Los Angeles since 2009.
Avenged Sevenfold has also confirmed what everyone knew – they were never hacked. Instead, the band used AI voice modifiers for the "fake podcast" confirming their "festival cancellations," while the entire LIBAD5343.net tease website were written by Chat GPT and DALL-E 2.
As for the lyrical content to Life Is But A Dream…, the press release notes we've got philosopher Albert Camus to thank. "Written and recorded over the span of four years, Life Is But a Dream… was inspired by the writing and philosophy of Albert Camus," reads the description. "Accordingly, the lyrics are rooted in existentialism and absurdism."
Pre-orders for Life Is But A Dream… are available here. And because this is Avenged Sevenfold, of course there's a strange tech twist to the physical copies of the album. Avenged Sevenfold partnered with Berify to include an NFC tag (Near-field communication technology allows two devices to communicate wirelessly) on the physical copies, all of which will contain some kind of bonus content.
You can check out the Wes Lang artwork for the album below. It's exactly as creepy and unsettling you hoped it would be, especially given the countdown video.
