Tenacious D is currently working on a brand new album, and maybe they should call Dream Theater's Jordan Rudess for a guest solo? Watch as Rudess instantly learns – and then shreds overtop of – Tenacious D's classic 2006 track "The Metal", which he jokes is a major relief considering it's in the 4/4 time signature.
"I just heard the song 'The Metal' for the first time and it totally inspired me. I wanted to call up my most wicked lead sound and jam along," said Rudess. "I didn't know what was going to happen, although maybe I didn't learn every detail of it, I pretty quickly got a hit for what it was and got inspired to jam over it. I ended up having a very good time making some crazy wild leads along with our good buddy Jack Black and Tenacious D."
