Hammerhedd has been making the rounds for years now, and for good reason – these kids are some of the best metal musicians out there. We're more than stoked to premiere the new Hammerhedd single "Tunnel" right now, which feels like early thrash-inspired Meshuggah mixed with some of the massive Tool grooves of yesteryear, nice and contorted.
"We wrote this song about a year ago while listening to The Police nonstop," said Hammerhedd in a statement. "There’s Stewart Copeland-influenced drums, a few Andy Summers-type chord shapes, and a Sting-style bass riff in the midsection. Aside from that, we (as usual) took heavy influence from Tool, Meshuggah, Mastodon, etc… the gods of the newer generation of metal, as well as the classics; Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, etc.
"We like to think we put these influences together in a way that sounds new, fresh, and uniquely Hammerhedd. We’re looking forward to playing this song every night on our upcoming run with In Flames!"
Hammerhedd will hit the road with In Flames, Born Of Osiris, and Darkest Hour at one of the dates below.
