Here's your first look at Metallica frontman James Hetfield playing some sorta sheriff in the upcoming film The Thicket. Hetfield isn't exactly the focus of the trailer, but you can catch a few glimpses of him doing some old-school-sheriff-type things like shooting a gun and looking at… something.
This is also not Hetfield's first time starring as law enforcement in a major film – Hetfield played Bob Hayward in the 2019 Ted Bundy flick Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Better Black Album royalties and his budding career as a cop-type in films, it's safe to say that Hetfield is gonna be alright. Oh, and that Metallica band still does pretty okay too!
The Thicket is directed by Elliott Lester, written by Christopher Kelly, and produced by (and starring) actor Peter Dinklage. The Thicket also features Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, and Gbenga Akinnagbe.
The following a brief description of The Thicket from IMDb: "Set in east Texas, the film follows a boy who, after his sister is kidnapped by a violent killer known only as Cut Throat Bill, enlists a fierce bounty hunter named Reginald Jones who grudgingly becomes the leader of the group of outcasts searching for the stolen girl."
