Locked In A Vacancy is staying plenty pissed on their new single "…Of Church And State". The single comes alongside a video filmed and edited by Brett Miller, and is from Locked In A Vacancy's upcoming EP …Before The Dawn.
"It’s not news to anyone who’s been paying attention to US politics in recent years that a certain segment of our elected officials have taken to eroding the separation of church and state – one of the basic tenets this country was founded on," said vocalist Dyami Bryant. "This song is a rallying cry against that. To be perfectly clear: this is not an anti-religion song or an anti-Christianity song, but rather a call-out to politicians who invoke those systems as a means to advance their personal agendas – typically rooted in their own biases of misogyny, racism, and homophobia."
Guitarist Nelson Blake adds: "It's our first music video in almost two decades and it was an absolute blast to bring it together and show our death metal influences."
…Before The Dawn was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Len Carmichael at Landmine Studios, Ewing, NJ. Pre-orders are available here. You can also catch Locked In A Vacancy at one of the two below shows.
