Lookout Scott Ian and Co., there may be a new brood on the rise, bonded by blood, and ready to shake the family tree. On March 28 while at the famed Whiskey-A-Go-Go in Los Angeles, Metallica's Robert Trujillo hopped on stage to join his wife, Chloe (vocals) and daughter Lullah (drums), along with Ministry guitarist Cesar Soto for a jam on the Black Sabbath classic album cut, "Hand of Doom." There's some really great footage captured from the evening and you can check it out just above, filmed by Jessica Chase.
The Trujillo fam was on hand for the Ultimate Jam Night which is held monthly at the Whiskey. The evening's proceeds benefited Animal Tracks, a Southern California sanctuary for endangered animals.
The show was emceed by VH1 host Hal Sparks, and featured appearances by other high-profile rock musicians, including members of Anthrax, OK Go, Bad Wolves, P.O.D., Ministry, Whitesnake, Armored Saint, King's X and more. And although I joked with the Ian family at the beginning of this post, in all seriousness: the Ian family was on hand as well, including guitarist Scott, his wife Pearl Aday (Motor Sister), and his son Revel on drums. The Ian's earlier this week released an Instragram video of them prepping for the event, jamming on another Sabbath classic, "Symptom of the Universe." You can check that clip out below.
The next Ultimate Jam Night at The Whiskey A-Go-Go will be held on April 11, and if you would like to attend, you can check out more information on the event right here. A promotional poster for this month's event can also be seen below. The shows are all ages, and for those over 21, admission is free. For the under-21 set, the cover is a reasonable ten bucks. It looks like a really cool scene, I may have to check it out this month!
