Ryujin, formerly known as Gyze, will release their self-titled Napalm Records debut on January 12. Ryujin is now streaming the album's high-energy debut single "Raijin & Fujin" featuring the ever-prolific Matt Heafy of Trivium and Ibaraki fame. If you didn't have any coffee this morning, this is definitely the aural equivalent.
"This is the first album of the evolution from Gyze to Ryujin!" said Ryujin mastermind Ryoji Shinomoto. "We want everyone to enjoy Samurai Metal from the Far East! Produced by Matthew, it opens new doors for us and we are honored to release it on the legendary Napalm Records!"
"Ryujin delivers music unlike anyone else on the planet," added Heafy. "It was their original sound that initially grasped my attention and left me needing to have more and more of what they do. I am humbled and honored to have been able to contribute to this upcoming masterpiece… this opus! This is the album the world needs."
Ryujin is produced Heafy and mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis. Ryujin features guest spots from Heafy (obviously) and Mukai Wataru of the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra on cello. Pre-orders for Ryujin are available here.
