Visual effects artist Chris Rodriguez just dropped his CGI music video for Mastodon's "Eyes Of Serpents" and it's beautiful. It should be made clear that this isn't an official music video, but one made by a very talented fan who was going through a difficult time in life. And really, maybe Mastodon should keep this dude in mind for future videos. This looks great!
"The idea of the video came after the unexpected passing of a couple family members," said Rodriguez of the video and single. "'Eyes of Serpents' was a song that helped me process my grief and the video is an extension of that. The album, Hushed and Grim deals with these themes and I wanted to honor that. On the more technical side, the video was made in Unreal Engine using special processing to make it look painterly."
