A new trailer for the Ronnie James Dio documentary, Dio: Dreamers Never Die, is streaming now. You can watch the trailer above, which features commentary from Jack Black, Lita Ford, and Eddie Trunk. The film will be shown in theaters on over 500 screens around the world. A press release for the film provided this overview:
"Executive produced by Dio’s widow and longtime manager, Wendy Dio, and fully authorized by the artist’s estate, DIO: Dreamers Never Die delves deep into the singer’s incredible rise from a ‘50s doo-wop crooner to his early rock days in Elf and Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, to replacing Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath, and finally cementing his rock star status with his own band, DIO.
The film incorporates never-before-seen footage and personal photos, as well as offering intimate scenes with his closest peers, family, and friends, among them Wendy Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Glenn Hughes, Vinny Appice, Lita Ford, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach, Eddie Trunk, and Jack Black, as they bring viewers inside the life of one of rock and roll’s true heroes and one of the most beloved figures in rock."
Tickets to see the film are available here. Earlier this month, Wendy Dio shared that she is in talks with producers to remix and remaster Dio's second LP, The Last In Line, for a box set reissue—similar to the Holy Diver box set that was released last month.
"[The record company] Rhino has more plans to do the same thing with The Last In Line – somewhere down the line; not right away, obviously. But… they wanna do The Last In Line," Wendy told radio station host Joe Rock of 98.9 WMMO of Orlando, "And I'm talking to other producers to do a remix of that. And so we'll see what happens."
