Cypress Hill hit the stage with Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter, System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, and Beastie Boys keyboardist Money Mark for a killer performance at NASCAR's Busch Light Clash over the weekend. The trio backed Cypress Hill rappers B-Real and Sen Dog, as well as drummer Eric Bobo and DJ Lord, for a performance rife with nü-metal bounce riffs and energetic vocals… so y'know, what you'd expect from Cypress Hill.
If you wanna get right to the riffs, skip to 3:30 in the video above. You can also check out some rehearsal footage of Cypress Hill warming up with with their 2000 hit "(Rock) Superstar" a few days prior below.
Deftones and System Of A Down are both scheduled to play the nü-stalgia festival Sick New World this May in Las Vegas. Cypress Hill isn't on the bill, but maybe they should be? I mean come on – their 2000 album Skull & Bones with "(Rock) Superstar" featured Christian Olde Wolbers and Dino Cazares of Fear Factory, Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine, and Chino Moreno of Deftones. Dudes absolutely belong.
