Death To All, the Death tribute band featuring drummer Gene Hoglan (ex-Testament, Dethklok), bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Testament), guitarist Bobby Koelble, vocalist and guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, We Are In Transit, ex-Cynic), is out on the road celebrating the music of Chuck Schuldiner.
Death To All was joined in San Diego over the weekend by Cynic frontman and former Death guitarist Paul Masvidal for a performance of "Flattening Of Emotions" from the 1991 album Human. Masvidal also got back on stage to do some leads for "Pull The Plug," because why not? Dude rules.
"I had a blast hangin and jammin' with the [Death To All] homies and fam last night Brick By Brick in San Diego," said Masvidal. "It's been over a decade since I last played 'Flattening of Emotions' and 'Pull the Plug' with these guys. Death's songs hold up well! Special thanks to Bobby for the mid-song cable swap."
"Paul Masvidal came out to join us on 'Flattening,' then 20min before went on, Bobby pinned him down to do the lead and second half of 'Pull the Plug,'" added Hoglan. "Death To All North American Tour!"
Masvidal was a part of Death's touring lineup in 1989 and 1990, and was a permanent member of the band between 1991 and 1992. Catch with Death To All Suffocation and Nukem at one of the dates below.
