Recently we've been showcasing some videos from Moonic Productions, such as their experiment in giving AC/DC's classic "Back In Black" the Pantera treatment and my personal favorite—One Guy, 20 Bands (Metal Rendition). Now, the dude over at Moonic has hooked up another seriously heady batch of "what if X covered Y": What if Electric Wizard covered Black Sabbath's "Paranoid"—and if I say so myself, dude totally sludges it up on this one. You can check it out for yourself just above
The distortion on the vocals, the ginormous riffs, combined with the drop in tempo gives this cover the vibe of doom in full force. And, by the way, if you're interested, Moonic Productions has shown off loads of great "what if X covered Y" songs over the years, including:
- What if High On Fire wrote Metallica's "Battery"?
- What if Sleep wrote Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love"?
- What if Kyuss wrote "The Pretender" By Foo Fighters?
- What if System Of A Down wrote "Barbie Girl"?
- What if Alice In Chains sounded like System Of A Down?
- What if Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" was a Sleep song?
- What if Sunn O))) write Toto's "Africa"?
