The Sword went on hiatus in 2018 after show attendances were dwindling and the band felt like it was just time for a break overall. Since then, guitarist Kyle Shutt has launched a solo career, and now it seems vocalist J.D. Cronise is doing the same. While Cronise hasn't announced a release or anything like that, he's streaming three seemingly standalone singles via Bandcamp.
