RHCP Bassist Flea Just Discovered CANNIBAL CORPSE & We Are Loving His reaction

It's inarguable that Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is one of the greatest bassists of all time. The man understands groove. Earlier this week, I guess he wanted to expand his groove horizons with the kings of groove death metal. We're talking, of course, about Cannibal Corpse.

Flea just learned about the death metal kings and was looking for recommendations on Twitter. So sayeth Fleah:

I mean, he's totally right, you know. Funny enough, former Cannibal Corpse frontman Chris Barnes, who sang on Tomb of the Mutilated said that the admiration was mutual.

Fellow guitarist Jeremy Wagner even remarked at how big of a RHCP fan Barnes is, which seems a bit weird to me? I don't know.

Cannibal Corpse was in the studio recording the follow-up to their 2017 record Red Before Black. At least that's what vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher heavily hinted at on Instagram, earlier this summer.

Interestingly, Fisher did not mention guitarist Pat O'Brien in his post. O'Brien was arrested on December 10, 2018 for burglary and assaulting a police officer. Upon inspection of O'Brien's home, police found a cache weapons, rounds of ammunition, and potentially explosive devices. Cannibal Corpse stood behind O' Brien at the time, with Fisher stating "We wish the best for him, and we're just waiting to see [what happens]. He's got a road ahead of him still with legal issues, and that's out of our hands. We support him 100 percent; we're behind him 100 percent." O'Brien's current legal status is unclear.

Fisher also tagged producer and live guitar fill-in Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, ex-Morbid Angel) in his post. Though he also tagged Rutan's studio, so that just might mean they're recording with Rutan.
