Slipknot have announced a limited batch of their award winning No. 9 Reserve Iowa Whiskey. The limited box set comes with a bottle of Clown's Iowa Shine, a single batch production.
According to the band, Clown's Iowa Shine is a 750 ml, 45% ABV (90 proof) raw bourbon straight from the still, fermented, distilled and aged at Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery, where the band's No. 9 whiskey is made.
The entire box set is available for $149 here, with "limited quantities" available. It sounds delicious, but $150 for two bottles of liquor seems a bit steep? There are variants as low as $39.99 though for the more economic Slipknot fan. The higher end $79.99 bottle is the one that got the award.
Forbes’ Fred Minnick awarded the drink "Best Celebrity Whiskey" and noted “Think cinnamon, clove, butter and oak. As it hits the palate, it coats it with this goodness, buttery almost, dripping down the side of the cheeks and warms all throughout. There’s a comfort here, cornbread-like, with notes of fried apple pie, apricot and macaroon. It finishes medium to long with a hint of bananas foster.”
