All-around good dude Dave Grohl spent a whopping 16 hours feeing the homeless at the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission Help Center in Los Angeles, CA. Grohl quietly showed up at the shelter late on February 28 with the barbecuing equipment and made everything from pork and brisket, to ribs and greens, for those in need ahead of some major Californian snowstorms.
According to TMZ, Grohl paid for everything himself and caught some shut-eye here and there while the food cooked.
"And in the middle of our 350 mile run to end homelessness, we got the coolest video ever from Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters," said Hope of the Valley CEO Rowan Vansleve on Instagram. "Not only did I wish us luck, but he cooked for hundreds of people who live in our shelters in the middle of one of the worst storms. Nothing but love and respect for Dave.
Foo Fighters recently announced three headlining shows taking place this May and June. The May 24 show in New Hampshire precedes the band's return to the stage on May 26 at the Boston Calling Music Festival, and who knows – maybe we'll even have new Foo Fighters music by then?

6/14 – Rogers, AR – Walmart AMP
6/16 – Pelham, AL – Oak Mountain Amphitheatre
Despite these shows, Foo Fighters has not yet addressed who will drum with them (live fill-in or otherwise). Foo Fighters released a statement on New Year's Eve 2022 saying "we know that we're going to be a different band going forward" after the tragic and sudden death of Hawkins.
"As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year that our band has ever known, we are reminded of how thankful we are for the people that we love and cherish the most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us," said the band in the statement.
"Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life. And for the past 27 years our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together. A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music. Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we're going to be a different band going forward.
"We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you. And we know that when we see you again – and we will soon – he'll be there in spirit with all of us every night."
