Rob Zombie is working with Waxwork Records on his new Rob Zombie Presents reissue series, and his first choice couldn't possibly be more fitting.
Rob Zombie has chosen the soundtrack to the 1932 movie White Zombie as his first reissue in his series. White Zombie is a 1932 horror movie starring Bela Lugosi, and is where Zombie's former band White Zombie got their name from in the mid 1980s. It's also probably the closest we'll ever get to Rob Zombie formally doing anything with White Zombie ever again, and it's not even close to begin with.
"I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks, so I jumped at the opportunity to work with Waxwork on this project," says Zombie. "I can't wait to release these albums. So many of these films are greatly underappreciated and they all contain such great music. So to be able to release these deluxe packages is a dream come true."
White Zombie is considered to be the first-ever feature length zombie film, and was largely filmed on the Universal Studios lot using props from other horror movies at the time. The White Zombie soundtrack is available here.
