Update: Rob Zombie has officially announced the return of bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson after the departure of Matthew "Piggy D." Montgomery earlier today. Blasko originally played for Rob Zombie between 1997 and 2006, and has since played with Ozzy Osbourne.
"After 18 years I am thrilled to announce that BLASKO has returned!" said Zombie. "The original 4 string Zombie monster is back. Get ready for a crazy summer of mayhem."
The original story published earlier today. January 30, is as follows.
Original Story: Basisst Piggy D. has parted ways with Rob Zombie after 18 years. Piggy D. played for Zombie between 2006 and present day, and has only revealed his time with the band has come to an end via a private Instagram post. Rob Zombie has not yet commented on Piggy D.'s departure or named a replacement. Which I guess isn't surprising, considering Rob Zombie also never addressed John 5 leaving the band.
"Dear Friends," began the bassist. "My time with Zombie has come to an end. It was an honor to entertain you for the last 18 years. I look forward to the future and wish everyone the best."
Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper announced their Freaks On Parade tour for this earlier this week. Fortunately the tour kicks off in August, so at least Zombie has some time to get a new bassist. The tour will feature Ministry and Filter as support, and you can get your tickets here.
