NICK AUGUSTO Says It Wasn't His Decision to Leave TRIVIUM; Former Drummer TRAVIS SMITH Ready To Get Back Behind the Kit

Travis is ready to get behind the kit!

Travis is ready to get behind the kit!

It's been a weird week for former Trivium drummers. Earlier this week, the band announced they were parting ways with Nick Augusto. They didn't go into detail but they made it sound like it was a mutual decision. Not according to Nick Augusto!

Nick tweeted the following last night:

Nick's probably going to have to change his Twitter handle sometime soon. But this gets even more dramatic. MetalSucks noted that the band's previous drummer, Travis Smith posted the following comment on the notice that Nick was gone:

Travis

We can confirm that is actually Travis. Travis actually left a comment on the Metal Injection Facebook page stating he's ready to get back into metal:

Given recent events, and the overwhelming messages from you all, I feel it necessary to make my own statement. Trivium was my baby since ’99. During my time with the band we made some killer triumphs, kicked some ass, and took a lot of names. My departure in 2009 was not a mutual decision, and the change was devastating. To leave something I had worked on for so long was difficult. I never said much about it to my fans at that time. I have always appreciated the continual support & love from you all. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t wonder what might have been. I miss creating music, and seeing all of your faces at the shows. I would love the opportunity to jump back into the scene, but just haven’t found the right fit yet.

It'll be interesting to see if Trivium take Travis up on his offer or chose to move on in a different direction.

How do you think the band should move forward?
