It was a gnarly injury.

Trophy Eyes Jump

24-year old concertgoer Bird Piché was critically injured during a Trophy Eyes show at Mohawk Place in Buffalo, NY on April 30, and is now suing.

Piché was standing up front at the show when Trophy Eyes vocalist John Floreani jumped from the stage and landed on Piché and a few others. The jump resulted in Piché suffering a spinal cord injury that led to a temporary paralysis and long recovery time. A crowdfunding effort was launched in the wake of Piché's injury and saw Trophy Eyes donate $5,000, as well as Mohawk Place donating an additional $500.

At the time, said she was likely to make a full recovery. Trophy Eyes also issued the following statement in the wake of the incident.

"As the result of a tragic accident on the night of April 30th, a Trophy Eyes fan was injured at our Buffalo NY show. We elected to immediately shut down the show as John accompanied them to the hospital with their family.

"Out of respect for the family, we have refrained from speaking about this publicly so far, but with the blessing of their family we are now able to say how truly heartbroken we are to be here now. Our friend, Bird, is now in recovery, but still has a long road ahead for them. A gofundme has been set up by their family [ed. note – there was a link here].

"This situation has shaken us all to our core, and we ask for patience while we look to help Bird navigate this difficult time. Please, keep Bird in your thoughts. We remain in close contact with them and will expand on this as new news arrives. Yours faithfully, Trophy Eyes."

Per a report from WGRZ, Piché is now suing Mohawk Place, the promoter After Dark Entertainment, LLC, and Floriani over the incident. Piché alleges that negligence from all the aforementioned parties resulted in the injury, noting that they failed to prevent "unsafe and/or dangerous conditions."

Trophy Eyes had previously made headlines when they confronted one commenter on their social media over accusations that Trophy Eyes shows were too rough. A recap of the incident involving Piché can be found below.
