At this point, thrash bands aren't reinventing the wheel. They know what works and what doesn't for a great thrash song. Exodus just released the first taste of their new album, Blood In Blood Out. The marketing professionals at their label Nuclear Blast made sure to put the band's best foot forward as the first track released is the one with former Exodus guitarist and legendary Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett (you've heard of him, right?) providing a guest solo:

Sounds really good to me. Returning vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza does not miss a beat and this sounds like some old-school Exodus awesomeness. And, there is no doubt as to where the Hammett solo comes in, a deaf man can recognize those wah-wahs.
Testament's Chuck Billy is also slated to make an appearance on the new record on the track "BTK."
Blood In Blood Out comes out October 14th on Nuclear Blast.
