MOTORHEAD Cancel Tonight's Show In Advance So Lemmy Can Recover

Get well soon, Lemmy!

Get well soon, Lemmy!

Earlier today, we reported that Lemmy had to stop last night's Motorhead gig in Austin because, in his words "I can't do it." Lemmy is suffering from altitude sickness from the band's show a few days ago in Salt Lake City, which also caused the band to cancel their Denver gig last Friday.

After the revelation that Motorhead stopped their show last night, the band posted the following statement:

As you might have heard, Motörhead again had to abbreviate a performance due to Lemmy not feeling well. This is a DIRECT follow-on from the altitude issues in Colorado, and clearly, Lemmy tried to get back at it too quickly. For this reason, Motörhead will not play in San Antonio tonight, but the show will still go on with Saxon headlining. Lemmy will resume duties the moment he is PROPERLY rested and firing on all cylinders again. The legendary Motörheadbanger patience is much appreciated, and the band send their deepest thanks. More details will be released soon.

I'm sure the band and their crew rely heavily on touring for their income and Lemmy doesn't want to let people down, but the man needs rest and can't be on the road for much longer. The band's next scheduled gig is this Friday, Sept. 4th in Dallas, with about three weeks of touring left to go. The full routing can be seen here. Motorhead also have the Motorboat cruise in a few weeks.

If you didn't see the footage from the show yesterday, it's absolutely heartbreaking.
