So many bands have their own signature beer now that we have an entire section of the site devoted to coverage of the most delicious of all liquids. Cannibal Corpse clearly are beer connoisseurs so I'm sure they realized that they needed to get in on the action and quick.
The band announced they'll be teaming up with Three Floyds Brewing Company out of Munster, Indiana to release the Amber Smashed Face beer, a play on their classic song "Hammer Smashed Face." Take a look at this bottle art, sure to offend some that spot it in the craft beer store:
Three Floyds has collaborated with bands in the past, starting with Pelican and continued with bands like Pig Destroyer, Amon Amarth, Municipal Waste, Eyehategod and Liar of The Minotaur. Three Floyds vice president Barnaby Struve was quoted as saying:
"We wanted to do it because [Pelican are] friends of ours and we all love the music. We decided to do it that way, and it sorta started snowballing. To the detriment of the marketing of our brand, we're putting out beers with Eyehategod and Lair of the Minotaur. It's not like we’re trying to expose ourselves to new markets. In fact, we're probably detracting from it. It's what we love. The ultimate goal is to make the best beer possible, but if we can't do it in a fun way and with our friends, then what's the point?"
No release date is set yet but we'll keep you posted.
Seriously, how cool is this art?
