AC/DC Postpone Tour As Frontman Brian Johnson Faces "Total Hearing Loss"

Sad news for AC/DC fans.

Sad news for AC/DC fans.

AC/DC have announced a postponement of their remaining 2016 tour dates after doctors advised frontman Brian Johnson of a scary issue with his hearing. Ultimate Classic Rock reports doctors have advised Johnson to "stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss,” which is the most frightening thing a musician can ever hear.

AC/DC released a note that the remaining 10 dates of their tour would be postponed and “will be made up later in the year, likely with a guest vocalist.”

AC/DC is notorious for being one of the loudest rock bands of all time. Tinnitus has clearly caught up with the vocalist. This is as good a reminder as any to wear some earplugs when you go to shows. (Interesting side note: a recent study noted that drinking coffee helps prevent tinnitus.)

This is the latest in a series of scary health situations for AC/DC as founding guitarist Malcolm Young had to step away from the band after suffering from dementia.

The following dates are postponed:

3/08 — Atlanta, Ga. — Philips Arena
3/11 — Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. — BB&T Center
3/14 — Greensboro, N.C. — Greensboro Coliseum
3/17 — Washington, D.C. — Verizon Center
3/20 — Detroit, Mich. — The Palace
3/23 — Columbus, Ohio — Nationwide Arena
3/26 — Cleveland, Ohio — Quicken Loans Arena
3/29 — Buffalo, N.Y. — First Niagara Center
4/01 — Philadelphia, Pa. — Wells Fargo Center
4/04 — New York, N.Y. — Madison Square Garden
