You know what sucks the most about Nevermore being broken up? Is that it doesn't even seem like those guys hate each other and we're all waiting for some reconciliation. Instead, the dudes in Nevermore just don't seem to have much of an interest in bringing the band back from the dead.
In a recent interview, Warrel Dane, ex-vocalist of Nevermore, says the idea of a reunion hasn't even come up between the band's members.
"No. We've never even discussed that, any of us. But I'm not on bad terms with [ex-Nevermore drummer] Van Williams or Jeff Loomis. I'm just not sure… Jeff, especially, I don't even think he'd be interested in doing it. I mean, he's in a bigger band now… [Jeff is] sober now. I tried to get the whole band sober fucking years ago, and it was pretty much, 'Fuck you! I'm gonna do whatever I wanna do.' Not from him. Not from Jeff. [It came] from someone else in the band. And had that worked, if I had been successful and got the whole band sober, we'd probably still be together right now. But, you know, everything happens for a reason. And the new shit that I'm working on, the new original stuff with my solo band, makes me realize how lucky I am to have worked with so many great musicians and made so many great songs."
I guess just keep pretending like The Obsidian Conspiracy came out last month and it's still totally new and it's not time for a new record yet?
