The only way Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin gets in the news is through TMZ it seems. Last we checked, he was wanted for no-showing a court appearance. after being arrested on April 30 in Hermosa Beach, CA for an outstanding warrant. This happened just one month after his band walked out on him for erratic behavior and two months after cops showed up in SWAT gear to arrest him.
This time, it wasn't the SWAT team that showed up. It was the bomb squad. According to TMZ:
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the Puddle of Mudd singer took matters into his own hands after his car was broken into multiple times. We're told the scheme — involving 2 vehicles — was pretty basic: a radio under one car with wires leading into the motor, and the second car had wires from a door to the gas tank.
Rather than scare off crooks, it terrified neighbors who called cops. The bomb squad came out and evacuated 4 surrounding buildings in the WeHo neighborhood.
Lucky for Scantlin, he did not get arrested this time, instead just got a stern talking to about wasting resources on his dumb car. Here's a photo of the scene:
Hey Wes, I know how you can deter people from breaking into your car. Set up a security system which blasts Puddle of Mudd anytime somebody tries to break in without a key. That always causes me to run as far as I can.
