Sumac released its sophomore album What One Becomes earlier this year, and it back with a remix record titled Before You I Appear. The EP is due out December 9 via Thrill Jockey Records, and you can check out the remix of "Image Of Control" below done up by Endon. It's a really cool listen that goes from massive ambient spaces to in-your-face distorted violence.
A remix EP for Sumac's music is an interesting idea all by itself. Sumac's songs are long and seem almost improvisational, so these remixes by default almost seem like they have to become their own songs, in a way.
