So it looks like that leak regarding a new Queens Of The Stone Age single titled "Head Boy Machine" supposedly coming out on July 31 is at least partially false. In an interview with News.Co.Au, frontman Josh Homme says the band will be releasing a new single before it kicks off its tour in New Zealand on July 13.
He also steps up the confirmation that Mark Lanegan will not be on the band's new album, stating that the album features absolutely no cameos at all.
Homme didn’t want to give away release details but did confirm there would be a new single before the tour. And to did reveal one secret. There are no guests on the QOTSA album, which means no cameo from occasional band member and Homme mate Dave Grohl.
For the record, …Lik Clockwork featured a ton of guest spots from people like Elton John, Trent Reznor, Mark Lanegan, Dave Grohl, Nick Oliveri, and a ton more. So the band seems to be going in the completely opposite direction here.
So what we know so far is that Queens Of The Stone Age is currently teasing something called Twentyfive, a new single will be out before July 13, and the album will feature zero cameos.
