The last time Five Finger Death Punch were in the news, Ivan Moody dropped off the band's tour, for what seemed like an extended stay in rehab, after having a mental breakdown. Then, a few months ago, we learned that the band's new album was already in the mixing stages. Except, there's one problem: their record label!
Even though the band made a big fuss about signing a deal with Rise Records / BMG, the band still have one record due to their current record label, Prospect Park. Prospect Park is suing the group for "shamelessly attempting to cash in before the anticipated downfall of their addicted bandmate."  The band called the lawsuit "desperate," claiming the label wants to hold off the release of the record so that the owners can sell the label at a higher price. But, Five Finger Death Punch are getting antsy, and now they're going to court again.
TMZ reports the band filed a new lawsuit saying they are probably the only profitable band on the Prospect Park roster, saying the label is drowning in debt, and joking it's more like "Prospect Dark." Do lawsuits usually contain bits of shade like this? The band said the label was "cooking up a bogus lawsuit last year to keep the band recording … while it shopped the label."
TMZ reports the band is asking a judge to free them from their contact and give them one million dollars in damages.
TMZ got comment from the label, who threw some shade of their own saying the real issue is the band haven't delivered an the album "required under the recording contract and expected by their fans."
This looks like it's heading for court.
