Black Sabbath's 1970 debut album just saw a 2,800% spike in sales thanks to a vinyl reissue.
According to a report by Forbes, the album sold 3,365 copies in the past tracking period, which is insane compared to the 116 copies sold in the period before that. the sales landed Black Sabbath at No. 6 on Billboard's Vinyl Albums chart and at No. 23 on the Top Album Sales chart. Which again, totally bonkers considering Black Sabbath is 54 years old and you'd just assume everyone has a copy at this point. Though people also keep buying Metallica's Black Album, so who knows.
Speaking of reissues, Black Sabbath recently finally reissued their Tony Martin-material both physically and on all streaming services. For those unaware, Martin sang for Black Sabbath between 1987 and 1991, and then again between 1993 and 1997. Martin's discography with the band includes The Eternal Idol, Headless Cross, Tyr, Cross Purposes, and Forbidden, all of which were largely unavailable on any format until now (The Eternal Idol has been on streaming services for years).
