Rolling Stone just unveiled their list titled The 200 Greatest Singers Of All Time and rock certainly wasn't omitted. The list includes Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose, and a few other names you'll recognize.
Rolling Stone mentions at the top of the list that "what mattered most to us was originality, influence, the depth of an artist’s catalog, and the breadth of their musical legacy" – so the list looks beyond people who simply have a great voice. While the rock representation is great, it makes you wonder how far off vocalists like Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley, or even Geddy Lee, were from getting voted into the top 200.
