Corrections House didn't impress me all too much on their first single, but the new song 'Serve or Survive" is an extremely badass redemption.
"Serve or Survive" can be streamed on Pitchfork. It's a pretty long song but the band manage to keep it interesting despite sticking to a pretty close-knit group of sounds. If the din of a torture basement had a soundtrack, this song would definitely be it. Corrections House is an all-star group featuring Mike Williams of Eyehategod, Scott Kelly of Neurosis, Sanford Parker of Nachtmystium, and Bruce Lamont of Yakuza. Their debut album Last City Zero will be out on October 29, and I'm surprisingly pretty excited about the affair. They seem like one of those bands that, the more you listen to them, the more you end up finding more things you enjoy until you're not able to turn the record off. Give "Serve or Survive" a spin, and if you're not a fan… then try again until you dig it. You'll thank me later.
