Every month, Decibel scribe Shane Mehling reviews the four videos that appear in the mag under “Decibel’s Clips of the Month at Metal Injection.” This month, watch picks from Napalm Death, Municipal Waste, Cattle Decapitation and a classic clip from Testament.
Municipal Waste – “You’re Cut Off”

How many videos do these guys have? Anyway, this is pretty much 90 seconds of a thrash “Paranoid Android,” but in this cartoon everyone dies in every completely awful way except for Municipal Waste themselves who (spoiler alert) triumphantly sit atop a pile of corpses at the end. That’s really the whole video. You should totally watch it.
Napalm Death – “The Wolf I Feed”

You have a weird fetish for bugs dressed like businessmen, ninjas and Catholics in some sort of They Live dystopia? No? Well, get fucked, because Napalm Death realized a little late they didn’t have nearly enough Nazi file footage to fill this whole video. Also, someone in the band clearly just bought a Mac and went a little bonkers on the Photo Booth effects. I’m shocked there isn’t a scene where Barney looks like he’s been drawn in colored pencil.
Cattle Decapitation – “Kingdom of Tyrants”

There’s nothing I love more than a Marilyn Manson video where people are done up like a bunch of freaks with absolutely zero context as the band plays. Cattle Decapitation boned up on some “Beautiful People” before blowing their budget on industrial PVC hose and gas station dreamcatchers. Actually, after watching the video a few times I think there is a story involving some guy peeing out milk and then a fetus gets thrown on the ground. Maybe this is a “How Babies Are Made” tutorial.
CLASSIC CLIP: Testament – “Practice What You Preach”

Ah, the classic ’80s Inception trick where they’re filming the filming of a video. They could have probably toned down the glammy mugging for the camera, but hey, it was a different time, people. Also, Chuck Billy is rocking my favorite mic (aside from anything Axl Rose ever sang through): the half-a-mic-stand mic, where you get all the awkwardness of a mic stand without the ability to set it down anywhere. We should all be thankful Chuck has made it this far without plunging that thing through his sternum.
