Experience the Wrath of the Gods With this New KRONOS Track

Ancient Greek death metal that would terrify even the gods!

Ancient Greek death metal that would terrify even the gods!

French brutal death metallers Kronos have been relatively quiet in the eight years since they released their previous album The Hellenic Terror, but on July 24, the band will unleash their brand new album Arisen New Era, serving as a resounding battlecry that Zeus himself and the rest of the gods of Olympus would shudder at. The band premiered the first taste of Arisen New Era over at No Clean Singing a couple of days ago in the form of "Klymenos Underwrath," a brutalizing, vicious guillotine of a song that hits with the ferocity and impact of a Spartan phalanx.

The stunning artwork adorning the cover of Arisen New Era speaks to the epic scale Kronos is trying to achieve, and if "Klymenos Underwrath" is any indication, I'd say that they're onto something special. Think the bludgeoning groove of Benighted dipped in the Ancient Roman melodies of Son of Aurelius. It strikes the perfect balance between God of War-style sonic violence and epic melodies, and serves as the perfect backdrop for the Greek Mythology themes which permeate Kronos' music. If anything, it makes me all the more stoked to hear Arisen New Era in its entirety. We could have one of the best death metal albums of the year on our hands,

Arisen New Era comes out on July 24 via Unique Leader Records. Pre-order this beast here.
