I've had the new Veil of Maya album for a few weeks now, and it's a total grower. Initially, the stylings of new vocalist Lukas Magyar kind of reminded me of Periphery vocalist Spencer Sotelo, and with good reason, as Spencer produced Lukas' vocals. But as time went on, I found myself falling in love with some of the deeper cuts on the album. What Matriarch presents is a more mature Veil of Maya who put songwriting ahead of stuffing 50 riffs into one song. And there are some really great songs in here. But enough from me, take a listen…
