Whoa, apparently I've been missing out on Hail of Bullets for a while now. Their first single "Pour le Mérite" off III: The Rommel Chronicles is way good!
Just reading through the press release for the song, Dan Swanö pretty much nailed it when he said:
"Hail of Bullets return for their 3rd album, armed to the teeth with a thunderous Death Metal onslaught that combines the raw ferocity of the 1st album with the more expanded arrangements of the 2nd. A Death Metal masterpiece!"
"Pour le Mérite" has all the bite you'd want out of a death metal jam, but certainly not all the wanky extra riffing and crap like that. It's just bare bones brutality with a side of more bare bones brutality, because that's the way you're supposed to do it. III: The Rommel Chronicles comes out October 29, but feel free to pre-order the hell out of it right here.
