The collaborative album between The Body and Full of Hell is pretty high on the personal "Most Anticipated" release. Portland's The Body has been making its own brand of scary, sludge and experimental music for quite some time now and are frequent collaborators with other musicians. Maryland's Full of Hell is an up and coming grind force who have some experience in collaboration as well (see their album with Merzbow). The concept of these two entities coming together is very intriguing. Chip King's unique vocals for The Body coming up against the sonic wall that Full of Hell creates, sounds like it can be one of the most terrifying things to be heard this year.
Thankfully, the final song from the upcoming collaborative album, One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache, has been released for all to hear. "The Little Death" is five minutes of face-pummeling, tormented metal. The dual-vocals of King and Full of Hell's Dylan Walker works better than originally imagined. The relentless drum hits and ripping guitars can overwhelm the senses. The song closes on a sample of Al Pacino as Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the HBO Movie, You Don't Know Jack (thanks for the info, SPIN), that adds an even darker touch.
One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache arrives March 25th through Neurot Recordings. The Body is also set to release No One Deserves Happiness on March 18th and Full of Hell released an EP at the end of 2015 called Amber Mote in the Black Vault. Check out the song below!
