Last week, it was confirmed that Avenged Sevenfold would have a track in the forthcoming Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 video game, when a video leaked from a convention for video game retailers hyping up the release, featuring the song as the soundtrack.
It looks like the powers that be have taken that video down, but Avenged are offering a nice 15 second teaser to whet your appetites until the song is officially released. The full song comes out this Monday, September 17th, 2018.
The track will be a part of a four-song EP the band is releasing which will include the three previous songs the band have released with the Call of Duty franchise.
Frontman M. Shadows spoke to Kerrang! magazine about the track: "The song is dark and brooding. We wanted to capture a difference feeling than a straight-ahead 'zombie killer' track. These songs are good places for us to experiment with our sound. I would put this in the category of 'dark alternative.'"
Shadows revealed they weren't even planning on working on a track for the game, until a fan asked about it in a Twitter Q&A "I did a Twitter takeover where a fan asked me about doing music for 'Black Ops 3'. The team at [games developing company] Treyarch saw it and asked us to participate. I went into the studio and saw what they were working on. We only had a month to get them a finished product, because of our European tour. We wrote what we felt would be a departure for not only us, but Treyarch as well."
